Earlier work: Sunrise/Sunset, Cloud Formations.

These are some of my art foundation pieces that were inspired by my train journeys to and from college, on a lovely stretch of coastline down in Devon. They are based on the could formations during sunrise and sunsets.
I became fascinated by the colours and the different formations, and what they meant. For example, if a cumulonumbus cloud was a sign that there was a storn coming.
They are small oil pantings, painted with pallette knives in order to gain the desired texture. Some of them have also got icing sugar mixed in with the paint for a grittier and even more textured finish.
'Sunrise I' which is the paller painting is now sold.
